Tour Overview
This 2 days tour from Marrakech to Zagora Desert is the perfect option for travelers who want to experience the Moroccan desert but have limited time. In just two days, the journey takes you from the lively streets of Marrakech across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, through historic kasbahs and palm valleys, all the way to the quiet landscapes of southern Morocco.
The adventure begins with a scenic drive over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, one of the highest mountain roads in the country. Along the way, you will visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient architecture and film history. The road then continues through Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert, before heading south toward the lush Draa Valley, lined with thousands of date palms.
By late afternoon, you arrive in Zagora, where your desert experience begins. Enjoy a camel ride across the dunes as the sun sets over the Sahara landscape, followed by a memorable night in a desert camp with traditional music and dinner under the stars.
The next day, after watching the sunrise over the desert, the journey returns to Marrakech through the same scenic mountain route, with stops along the way to explore more of southern Morocco.
This short desert trip offers a taste of Morocco’s mountains, desert, and historic kasbahs in only two days.
