Tour Overview
This 3 days desert tour from Ouarzazate to Fes via Merzouga is an unforgettable journey across southern Morocco, combining spectacular desert landscapes, Berber culture, and the scenic mountains of the Middle Atlas.
The adventure begins in Ouarzazate, gateway to the Sahara, and continues through the impressive valleys and palm groves of southern Morocco toward the dramatic Todra Gorge, one of the country’s most remarkable natural canyons. From there, the road leads to the golden dunes of Merzouga, where you will experience a magical camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend the night in a traditional desert camp under the stars.
The following day is dedicated to exploring the desert surroundings, including visits to nomadic families, Khamlia village famous for Gnawa music, and the peaceful Merzouga lake, often visited by flamingos.
On the final day, travel north through the palm-filled Ziz Valley, stop in Erfoud and Midelt, and continue across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, visit the cedar forests where Barbary macaques live and discover the alpine town of Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco.
The journey ends in Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities.
