Tour Overview
This 2 days desert tour from Ouarzazate to Fes via Merzouga is a perfect short journey for travelers who want to experience the magic of the Sahara while traveling between southern Morocco and the imperial city of Fes.
The adventure begins in Ouarzazate, crossing beautiful desert valleys and traditional Berber villages before reaching the spectacular Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon carved by the Todra River. From there the road continues toward the golden dunes of Merzouga, where your Sahara experience truly begins.
In the desert, enjoy a peaceful camel ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi, watch the sunset from the top of a high dune, and spend the night in a traditional desert camp under the stars with dinner and Berber music.
The next morning, wake early to admire the sunrise over the Sahara, then travel north through the impressive Ziz Valley and the mountains of the Middle Atlas. Along the way you will visit Rissani’s traditional market, discover the fossil town of Erfoud, and stop in the cedar forests where Barbary macaques live before reaching Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco.
The journey ends in Fes, one of Morocco’s most historic cities.
